Funeral Service for Mrs. Robbie W. Atkisson, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Mt Zion Baptist Church. She will lie in state at the church from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the service. Rev. Chad Middlebrooks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Robbie Atkisson, a beacon of love and faith in her community, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. Born into the caring arms of Robert Chester Wicker and Voncyle Etoille Wicker, Robbie's life was a testament to the power of kindness and dedication. Her journey began in Alexander City, AL, where she graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1960, setting the stage for a life full of service and compassion.

Robbie's professional life was marked by her unwavering commitment to education and her community. She served as a teacher's aide at Radney Elementary School for a decade, where her gentle guidance shaped countless young minds. Her dedication to public service continued as she retired from the City of Alexander City after 42 years of faithful service. Robbie's passion for helping others extended beyond her work as she took on the role of chairperson for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for two years and was an active organizer for TOUCH Cancer Support through the Russell Medical Center.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Robbie played the piano for Mt Zion Baptist Church from the tender age of 13 until she was 83, her music uplifting the spirits of all who heard it. Her Christian beliefs were not just confined to the church walls; she lived her faith every day through her actions. Robbie was known for her thoughtful gestures, such as sending cards and well wishes to those in the community, and for her generosity, often sending flowers to the sick and homebound. Her role as a caregiver for many family members throughout her life was a testament to her loving nature.

Robbie's legacy is carried on by her beloved husband, Byron Clyde Atkisson, and her cherished children: Robin Renee (Stanley) Fuller, Bobby (Tracy) Fuller, Bartley B. Atkisson, and Loc (Nga) Le. Her grandchildren, Heather (Dennis) Shaw, Eli Shaw, Noah Shaw, Daniel (Samantha) Lewis, Levi (Celeste) Lewis, Gage (Mallory) Fuller, Gavin (Ariana) Fuller, will hold her memory in their hearts, as will her great-grandchildren, Radd Fuller, Tristian Shaw, Trinity (Jacob) Middlebrooks, Emily (Walker) Shaw, Courtney Shaw, Jase Jones, Layton Thompson, Jaiden Shaw, Jade Lewis, Cohen Lewis, Krew Lewis, and her great-great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Tuck and Kaelyn Shaw. Robbie's life was enriched by the presence of special loved ones Michael Mann and Glen Britton.

Preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hollee Shaw, father, Robert Chester Wicker, her mother, Voncyle Etoille Wicker, her brother, Bobby Wicker, and her cousin, Carole Washburn, Robbie's spirit will be a guiding light for her family and all who knew her.

Robbie Atkisson was the embodiment of love, faith, and thoughtfulness. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be cherished in the countless lives she touched. Her family will forever be grateful for the lessons of compassion and care she instilled in them, and her community will remember her as a woman who truly made a difference. Robbie's life was a beautiful melody of service, love, and faith that played harmoniously to the very end.
