Phillip Randall Roberts, a man of creativity, intelligence, and humor, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 11, 1958, in
Alexander City, Alabama, Phillip was the cherished son of John Denny Roberts and Ruby Gaye Oliver Roberts. His life was a testament to the joy and passion he found in every moment, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Phillip's journey through life was marked by his dedication to his family, his education, and his love for music. He was a proud graduate of Benjamin Russell High School and went on to attend Auburn University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. His academic achievements were just the beginning of a life filled with accomplishments and meaningful relationships.
In the early 1990s, Phillip's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Backtrax Music Exchange, a haven for music lovers that reflected his own passion for rock 'n' roll. Though the store eventually closed, Phillip's zest for life and work did not wane. He found joy in his subsequent career at Publix, where he was not just an employee but a beloved member of the Publix family, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
Phillip's interests were as varied as his talents. He was an avid music collector, his tastes spanning the rich history of rock music. He could often be found lost in the melodies of his favorite songs or engrossed in the classic black and white movies he so loved. His enthusiasm for NASCAR and the Auburn Tigers was infectious, and he enjoyed nothing more than sharing these passions with his friends and family.
Phillip's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Pamela D. Roberts, and his loving son, James Noah Roberts. He also leaves behind a close-knit family of cousins, including Ann (Windell) Bruce, Roger (Gail) Coker, David (Carol) Oliver, Ronnie (Joyce) Coker, and a host of other relatives and friends who were blessed to know him. His parents preceded him in death, but the values they instilled in him live on through the lives he touched.
Phillip Randall Roberts was a man who lived his life with a sense of purpose and a heart full of love. His laughter and creativity left an indelible mark on the world, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his journey. As we say goodbye to Phillip, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind and who will be forever remembered for the happiness he brought to others.
