Thomas Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Mar. 17, 2026.
Thomas H. Roberts, known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, lost his courageous battle with cancer on March 11, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on February 10, 1948, in Quincy, Massachusetts, Tom lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his country.

Tom's early years in Hyde Park laid a strong foundation for the man he would become. His childhood was filled with the joys of New England life, where the seeds of his lifelong interests in fishing and sports were planted. Tom answered the call of duty and served his nation with honor as a member of the United States Army. His service was a testament to his selflessness and his deep love for his country.

Following his military service, Tom embarked on a career as an engineer, where his keen mind and diligent work ethic led to a successful career. His colleagues knew him as a generous mentor and a reliable friend who could always be counted on for support and guidance. Tom's professional life was characterized by the same kindness and generosity that he showed to all who were blessed to know him.

In his personal life, Tom was a beloved husband to his wife, Paula O'Rourke, and is also survived by his stepson, Bryan O'Rourke, and his wife, Karen who appreciate all that he gave them. Tom's role as a grandfather to Ryley and Makayla was one of his greatest joys. Nothing made him happier than attending one of their dance recitals or soccer matches.

Tom's love for the outdoors and the serenity of nature was evident in his passion for fishing and the many peaceful days spent at the beach in Florida. He was also an avid fan of watching sports and movies, enjoying the simple pleasures of life with his loved ones by his side.

As we mourn the loss of Thomas H. Roberts, we also celebrate his remarkable life. We find comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace after his courageous battle with cancer. Tom's memory will forever be a beacon of light and an inspiration to live a life of selfless love and unwavering faith.

We bid farewell to a man of great character, a devoted husband, a true friend, and a faithful servant of God. Rest in peace, Tom; your memory will always be cherished and your life's story will continue to inspire.
