James "Jim" Riley Bailey, 83, of
Flatwoods, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his home.
Jim was born March 4, 1942, in Fireco, West Virginia to the late George Bailey and Cecilia Hill Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Linda Bailey (Gabbard), his second wife Beverly Bailey (Priode), two brothers, Ira Bailey and Roger Bailey, and four sisters, Shirley Bailey, Jean Hall, Gerry Brandstetter, and Brenda VonKaenel.
He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Faye Hall and her husband Randy of Greenup, Kentucky, two stepdaughters, Jerri Moore (Gregg Marcum) of Wurtland, Kentucky and Jana Elliott and her husband Kyle of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, one brother Richard Bailey, one grandson James "Dylan Barber, four step-grandchildren, Ryan Elliott, Aaron Elliott, Justin Hall, Amber Rodgers, and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Jim was a member of the Mason Smith Lodge, American Legion Post 325, and the Amvets Post 095. He was an award-winning wood worker, a proud supporter of the NRA, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and several cancer research organizations. Jim was the most knowledgeable jack of all trades, an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to collect cars. He loved bluegrass music, telling stories, and spending time with his grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2026. A private burial will take place Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hall, Dylan Barber, Justin Hall, Rick Bailey, Gregg Marcum and Ryan Elliott.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon till the service hour, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Carman Funeral Home.
