James P. Beisbier, age 57, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at home with his Mom and Dad at his bedside. He was born in West Bend on March 14, 1968 to John and Arlene (nee Zettler) Beisbier. He was born with Down Syndrome. As a child thru young adulthood, he participated in Special Olympics in many fields. His favorite sports were track and field and bowling and he earned many first place and other place medals.
Growing up, he loved camping, tandem bicycling, canoe rides, traveling, listening to polka music, eating at drive-ins, and especially enjoyed attending The Threshold. Jim also loved to go to The Columbian Fish Fry to eat chicken strips and drink a large glass of 7-Up soda with lots of cherries. He was also a Tootsie Roll fundraiser collector on behalf of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Angels Church. Jim was baptized, made his First Holy Communion and Confirmation, all at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. He loved many entertainment videos such as The Muppets (Kermit), Superman movies and favorite TV cartoon channel show Boomerang.
Jim is survived by his parents John and Arlene, brothers Dennis of Long Beach, CA and Jerry (Colleen) of West Bend, niece Veronica and nephew Miles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Cecilia Beisbier and Ewald and Marcella Zettler.
Jim's family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Horizon Home Care and Hospice and My Choice Wisconsin and especially Jerry and Colleen for their help.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 629 Cedar St, West Bend, on Thursday, August 28 from 4 until 5:45 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow.
