Jill Suzanne (Szczurko) Gallagher, 55, of Spencer, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 after a short illness.

She leaves her husband and best friend, James Patrick "Pat" Gallagher III, after 36 years together; her adored children, Cory and his wife Melanie, Cassie, and Kaylee; two beloved grandchildren, Landon and Jake; her brother, John (Jay) Szczurko; her extended Gallagher family, cherished nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends.

Jill was born in Worcester to Steven J. and Joan E. (Godbout) Szczurko. She graduated in 1988 from North High School in Worcester and continued her education at the Salter School.

She began her career working for Worcester Insurance Company. She was also a realtor for several years. Over the past 20 years, she has worked for the town of Spencer, most recently as the Assistant Treasurer and Collector.

Jill lived for her endless pontoon boat rides with family and friends, her "Cousins Weekends" in the White Mountains, watching her grandsons' baseball games, chasing her daughters around the globe, board games and "family fun-days". She filled her days with positivity, laughter and boundless joy for living in the moment.

Calling hours will be Friday, August 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Saturday, August 16, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter in East Brookfield to continue Jill's legacy as an animal lover.
