LeRoy James Kriewald, better known as Jim, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away on October 15, 2022 at the age of 91.
Jim was born February 4, 1931 to Herbert and Leona (Stubbe) Kriewald in Merrill, WI, where he attended local schools growing up. He began working for Krambo as a young man, while attending Merrill High School. After graduating, he moved to Wausau and later to Antigo, all while continuing his employment with Krambo. Jim later began working for Copps Corporation and worked there for over 40 years before retiring. During his time with Copps, he worked all over the state until finally settling in Stevens Point.
On March 3, 1951, Jim celebrated one of the best days of his life; the day he wed Lula Enyart. The two were married in Merrill, WI and together raised two beautiful children; a daughter, Jo, and a son, David. Spending time together as family was a favorite pastime of Jim's.
Jim also enjoyed golf and was quite proud of his hole in one. He was also an avid reader, a Packer fan, and an outdoorsman; watching animals and feeding the birds.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jo (Mark) Schroeder, his son, David (Valerie) Kriewald, 3 grandsons; Casey (Crissie), Matthew (Julie), and Jonathon; and 2 granddaughters, Melissa (Sale) and Jennifer (Jeff). He is further survived by a great-granddaughter, Camdyn, and 2 great-grandsons, Sam and Carson.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lula, a brother, Merlin, and a granddaughter Lura Kriewald.
Services for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Shuda Funeral Chapel - 3200 Stanley Street, Stevens Point. Pastor Clay Schmit will be officiating. Friends and family may gather to share memories on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
