Jimmy D. Lofton, 85, of Newburgh, IN formerly of Princeton passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born May 4, 1940 in Princeton, IN to Roscoe D. Lofton and Eva E. (Keith) Lofton. Jim graduated from Princeton High School in 1958. In the 60's he worked for Ashland and Marathon delivering fuel. Jim drove bus #12 and #5 for North Gibson School Corporation for 40 years. He also worked as a horse trainer for over 40 years. Jim enjoyed spend time outdoors golfing and fishing. He liked playing pool and playing cards, especially Bridge. Jim loved spending time with his family and found great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bill Lofton, Lucille Solomon, and Connie King; and brother-in-law, Jim Walker.

Jim is survived by his children, J.R. Lofton and Jennifer (Joseph) Anslinger; grandchildren, Johnathon (Olivia) Tolbert, Thomas 'T.J.' (Ashley) Anslinger, Kayla (Chris) McElwain, and Jonathan Michael (McKenzie) Anslinger; several great-grandchildren, but was especially close to Jax Tolbert, Roman Tolbert, and Bennett Anslinger; great niece, Nikki (Storm) West; and great-great nephew, Braxton "Buster" West; siblings, Beverly "Bez" Burns, Jerry (Rose) Lofton, Larry "Buck" Lofton, and Louise Walker.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Thomas Anslinger officiating. A graveside service will follow at Maumee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the service time at the funeral home.

My sympathy to Jim's entire family. For the short time he was at Park Place and the Newburgh Senior Center, Jim was always a friend to everyone.
You can be proud to call him your father, grandfather, and friend. Such a nice snd caring man. Peace to all his family.
