James E. Ramey, "Jim", 78, of New Palestine, passed away in the early morning of January 16, 2025, in Morristown, IN. He was born March 26, 1946, in Pennington Gap, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia (Rhoten) Ramey; sister, Barbara "Snookie" (Ramey) Wood; his infant daughter, Deborah Ramey; brother-in-law, Darrell Walker. He is survived by his wife Lois (Samples) Ramey of New Palestine, IN; brother, Timothy (Michael Ramono) Ramey of Sevierville, TN; sister, Diane Walker of Indianapolis, IN; his children, James (Debbie) Ramey Jr. of Fortville, IN, Karen Loucks of New Palestine,IN, Michael (Barbara) Ramey of Noblesville, IN, and Patricia (Glen) Huffman of Fairland, IN; eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He worked many years at Jenn-Air in Indianapolis, where he made many friends.

Jim loved his family, hot rods, and classic cars. He loved to attend car shows and show off his 1937 Chevy Coupe, which he fully restored. He won many awards for "Best in Show" and "Best Paint Job," among several others. Besides his family, his car was his greatest love, pride, and joy. He also enjoyed traveling the country with his wife on their motorcycle. Jim left behind many loved ones and was deeply loved by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the many amazing caregivers who have helped care for him: Derrek, Kelly, Kristian with Suburban Home Health, Lisa, NP with Major Wound Care, Stacey, NP with Paradigm Palliative Care, and Courtney, Wendy, Peggy, Sierra, and Monica with Aging in Style.

At Jim's request no services will be held. Memorial contributions can be made in Jim's honor to the Parkinson's Foundation to help other families battling this devastating disease.
