Jimmie Marshall Canfield, Sr., 88, resident of Waterloo, widower of Nancy Yvonne Anderson Canfield, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Hospice House of Laurens.
Born June 3, 1935, in Abbeville, he was the son of the late Richard Charles and Ester Murphy Canfield. He attended Abbeville Schools and was a US Air Force veteran. Mr. Canfield retired from Flour-Daniel International Corporation and Greenwood Mills, Sloan Plant. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also loved to tinker around, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
He attended New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a Master Mason AFM, Greenwood Lodge #91.
Surviving are a son, Jimmie Marshall Canfield, Jr. of Texarkana, TX; a daughter, Nancy Ann C. Ramsey and husband Shawn of Laurens; one sister, Cleo (Don) Farmer; grandchildren, Cameron Ramsey, Anslee (Chase) Murphy and Cayley Ramsey; and a great-granddaughter, Charlee Ann Murphy.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death three sisters, Frances Pinson, Louise (Neal) Sprouse and Virginia (Ray) Tippett; and two brothers, R.H. Canfield and Richard Canfield.
Cryptside services will be conducted at 3 pm on Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Grady Lothridge officiating.
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6:00– 7:30 Wednesday evening.
