Jimmie Nell Galbraith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Worth on August 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.

Born on October 25, 1936, in Denton, Texas, to JL Wright and Delma Squyers, Jimmie Nell carried the warmth and spirit of her hometown throughout her life. Her journey led her to Fort Worth, where she began working at Leatherwood and Ward and met the love of her life, James (Jim) Galbraith. They were married in 1957 and shared a beautiful life together until Jim's passing in 2001.

Jimmie Nell was a devoted mother to their four children: Dan and his wife Dana, Cynthia, Paula Green and her partner Robert Bush, and Douglas. She was also a doting grandmother to Dan's children, Kearby (deceased), Reese and his wife Nikki, and Shelby Galbraith. Her legacy continues through her three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Killian, and Rozzie.

A faithful servant of the Lord, Jimmie Nell was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her tireless work running the church’s clothing room, an outreach ministry that provided school uniforms for 200-600 children each year. Her kindness, compassion, and grace touched everyone she met, and her contagious sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 in the Sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church.  A reception will follow the service.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Recovery Resource Council or the American Cancer Society.
