Jimmie Correne Houchens, 84, of Glasgow, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Slick Rock, Kentucky on May 20, 1941, to the late James Hunley Sr. and the late Thelma Bowles Hunley Shirley. She was a graduate of Hiseville High School and attended Lindsey Wilson College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1988. Jimmie was the first woman hired in production at Eaton Axle, where she spent her career and later retired.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Shania Correne Houchens of Los Angeles, California; sisters, Magdalene Shockley and her husband David of Glasgow and Julia Moran of Greenbrier, Tennessee; brothers, Malcom and Walter Hunley of Glasgow, and James Hunley Jr. and his wife Brenda of Edmonton, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Pat Houchens of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews who mourn her loss.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh D. Houchens; son Rickey Glen Houchens; and brother, Clarence O. Hunley.
The funeral service for Ms. Houchens will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
