Deacon Jimmie Lee Littlejohn, Jr. was born September 24, 1936, to the late Jimmie L. Littlejohn, Sr., and Anne Pearl Kirby. On Monday, October 20, 2025, God quietly called Deacon Littlejohn home to eternal rest.
He was a graduate of Gaffney High School of Gaffney, SC., and continued his education at Benedict College in Columbia, SC. where he obtained a BS degree in both Chemistry and Sociology. During his college years, Deacon Littlejohn became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Deacon Jimmie served in the US Army from January 1959 until his honorable discharge. He was employed with the NYC Youth Board where he retired after over forty years of service. He also dedicated his time in the field of education as a part-time substitute teacher in the New York City Public School System.
On June 17, 1962, Deacon Jimmie married the love of his life,
Carolyn Alma Gentry Littlejohn. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Ingrid P. Littlejohn who preceded him in death and Sonya A. Fells.
To rejoice and cherish in his memory are his wife for sixty-three years; Carolyn Littlejohn, daughter; Sonya Fells (Larry); one brother in-law, Reverend Tony Makupson; one sister in-law, Gail Macomson; three grandchildren, Dr. Tyler Duford (Kenneth), Jordan Fells and Braeden Weddell; two great granddaughters, Naomi Duford and Amara Duford; one niece, Ruby C.
