Jimmie "Peeps" McShan, born on January 22, 1946, in Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jimmie's legacy is one marked by devotion to his family, unwavering faith, and a commitment to service.
Jimmie served as a dedicated corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he was respected by colleagues and inmates alike. He took pride in his work, embodying the values of discipline and respect that were central to his career.
Jimmie's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He cherished his wife, Rose Mary McShan, with whom he shared a remarkable bond over the course of 60 years. Together, they nurtured a loving home for their children, Kevin McShan and his wife, Kimila, and Kimberly Gollihar and her husband, Will. His legacy lived on through his grandchildren, Klint McShan and his wife, Jessica, Keri Lilley and her husband, Casey, Jacob Gollihar and his wife, Abbi, and Joshua Gollihar. Jimmie was also a proud great-grandfather to Kymber, Lennon, Colson, Declan, and Karlee, who brought immense joy to his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Jimmie is survived by many loving family members and a host of friends who will remember his kindness and generosity.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Perry McShan, and his mother, Emma McShan. He was also greeted by his sister "Baby Girl" McShan, as well as his brothers Edwin McShan and his wife, Mona, Robert "Bob" McShan and his wife, Lorraine, J.P. McShan and his wife, Audrey, and Kenneth McShan and his wife, Ganell. He is further preceded by cherished nephews David McShan and Patrick McShan, along with his father-in-law, Dwight Baucom, and mother-in-law, Sybil Baucom Brown.
Outside of his professional life, Jimmie found joy in the simple pleasures—hunting, classic cars, and above all, spending time with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids, who lovingly called him "Peeps". He was a faithful servant of the Lord and held his church, Plum Grove Baptist, dear to his heart. His character shone brightly in all aspects of his life, reflecting the values he lived by.
Visitation for Jimmie McShan will be held on August 2, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Jimmie's remarkable life and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
