Age 73, of Oscoda, MI, formerly of Onsted, MI passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Oscoda, MI. He was born on August 28, 1950 in Claiborn County, TN to the late Lawrence and Geneva (Carmack) Witt. Jimmie graduated from Monroe High School in 1968. He went on to work for Ford Motor Company in their Quality Control Department until his retirement in 2004. Jimmie married Michelle M. Gorecki on November 16, 1985. Over the years, he loved any time that he could get outdoors to salmon fish and hunt. Jimmie was also a member of the local VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Randy (Tricia) Witt, Steven (Michelle) Witt, Sarah (Lloyd) Rorke and Amy (Bryan) Garcia; brother, Mickie Witt; sister, Patti Luchonok; grandchildren, Aaron Witt, Kierstyn (Craig) Hoover, Elijah and London Rorke and Emiliano and Rayna Garcia; great-grandchildren, Penelope and Elliot Hoover and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Marie Witt and brother, Charles Witt. A memorial service will be held downstate at a later date.
