Jimmy W. Allison, 71, rode off into the sunset on April 29, 2025.
Born on May 12, 1953, Jimmy lived a life defined by adventure, humility, and connection. He was a son, brother, cousin, nephew, husband, father, grandfather, Scout leader, Masonic brother, friend, motorcycle enthusiast, entrepreneur, mentor and so much more.
With a lifelong passion for anything on two wheels, Jimmy found joy in racing antique bikes, riding trials, and sharing his love of motorcycling with others. His calm demeanor, gentle nature, and genuine ability to make everyone feel heard and valued left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jimmy turned his passion into his profession as the owner and operator of Champion Motorsports and High Plains Harley-Davidson, where he not only sold motorcycles but also built a vibrant community around them. He was an active member of the Prairie Dawgs Motorcycle Club, Scouting of America, the Antique Motorcycle Club of America Zia Chapter, and the Masonic Lodge Roswell #18.
He lived boldly, embracing life through unforgettable adventures-from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, to scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, riding the Cannonball from New York to San Francisco, attending the Isle of Man TT races, participating in the National Scout Jamboree in Washington D.C., and motorcycling through Copper Canyon, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.
Jimmy was humble, gracious, and grateful. He could talk to anyone about anything-and often did-not to be heard, but to make others feel seen.
A celebration of a life well lived will take place on what would have been his 72nd birthday, May 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flower the family asks that donations be made to The Boy Scouts of America Conquistador Council Registration Access Fund. https://donations.scouting.org/#/council/413/appeal/8684

You made an incredible mark on my life my friend. I will greatly miss you, your friendship, and mentorship. Never forgotten. I know you are in heaven riding the biggest baddest motorcycle available with wind in your face.

So sad to hear of Jimmy's passing at such a young age. Jimmy was a dear friend of and mentor to my Brother, Gerry Gross and I want to thank him for being his friend in the motorcycle community and beyond for all these years. The sadness my brother feels goes beyond just him and extends to our family as well. Leslie Sanchez (formerly Leslie Gross)

Deepest condolences to the Allison family. It´s funny been thinking about Jimmy recently as a motorcycle friend from Louisiana and I passed by the old Champion building. Brought back many memories of the first bike I bought from Jimmy, he was always smiling and just a great guy to deal with and talk to. I was in the new shop recently and thought about him hoping he might be there just to share stories about our chickens. He will be missed. Ride in Heaven Jimmy

So many great memories of Jimmy. He arranged a private tour of Tom Whites motorcycle museum. He went with me to the premiere of the John Penton story in Hollywood.

My heart heavy with the love and kindness and the huge parts of it that my beloved more than a friend, my dearest brother and mentor left in my being; Jimmy Allison. He took a great part from all of us that lived to be so blessed to know him...but left even more instilled of his humble larger than life wonderful character. His ever present caring genuine love for people. Always ready to help anyone in need. Always wearing a smile, his courage and nobility on his handsome beautiful face! Oh my Lord! Embrace my friend, show him the treasures he accumulated in heaven! Have him celebrate with those he loved now being by your side Lord of Lords!! King of Kings savior of humanity! He glorified you all his life being the best of role models. A great humanitarian...kind and most honorable full of virtues that his actions always spoke louder than any words could express. The love he showed to his family. To his parents, his brothers, his children and grandchildren in the most dedicated and sacred committed manners. His responsible behavior always beyond reproach. Rest in peace my beloved brother! My profound condolences to everyone in his family and all friends. As my daughter expressed..." Our world and universe will not be the same" Everyone that knew him highly admired, respected and cared lovingly for him. We all will miss him! Until we meet again in heaven. Thank you my Lord for sharing him with us all!!! Amen!
