Jimmy Ray Casey

Jimmy Ray Casey, 78, of Smithfield, NC, passed away Saturday morning December 30, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Mr. Casey was born December 8, 1945 in Johnston County and was the son of the late Morris Ray Casey and Belle Johnson Casey. He is also preceded in death by his wife; Margaret "Peggy" Andrade Casey and a great grandson; Micah Smith.
Mr. Casey was active in the Boy Scouts and a member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association. His loves were field crop farming, cows and tending to his Coastal Hay fields. His family was always ever present in his heart. He loved all of them dearly.
He is survived by his son; Alan Casey and wife Cynthia of Smithfield, daughter; Barbie Huffman and husband Jeff of Smithfield, sisters; Janice Creech and Gail Hall and husband Louis, both of Smithfield, grandchildren; Candice Smith and husband Shaun, Justen Casey and partner Miranda, Casey Hayes and husband Tyler, Cassidy Goodwin, Josh Huffman, great grandchildren; Maebry Smith and Knox Hayes.
The family will receive friends 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations in Princeton. The Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Grayson Fallaw officiating. He will be buried in the Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
