Bro. Jimmy Garland Elzey, age 77, of Dallas, GA passed away Monday, October 27, 2025. Funeral Services will be at 2pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Jimmy Dunn, Rev. Harold Weatherford, and Rev. Eddie Thackston officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29th from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
A native of Cumming, GA, Mr. Elzey resided in Dallas, GA for the past 21 years. He retired as a Supervisor with Coca-Cola after 30 years of employment. Bro. Jimmy also served in the ministry, and had pastored several churches including Riverside Baptist in Mableton, Bethel Baptist in Douglasville, Guiding Light Baptist in Jonesboro, Friendship Baptist in College Park, Rock Baptist in Dallas, and Macedonia Baptist in Dallas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Elzey, a son, Steven Elzey, his parents, Ella and Garland Elzey, and a brother, Johnny Elzey.
Bro. Jimmy was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and he was affectionately known as "Bampa". He is survived by his son, Timothy (Tim) Elzey and wife Jo Ann (Jodi) Elzey of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Bryan and Tiffany Elzey of Dallas, GA, Marshall and Angel Hall of Rockmart, GA, and Taylor Elzey of Dallas, GA; great grandchildren, Anna, Bryson, Levi, Molly Kaye, Tyler, Olivia and Asher.
