Juliane Gertraud Elzey ObituaryJuliane Gertraud Elzey (born Then), age 91, of Monument, Colorado, died on December 21, 2024 in Monument, Colorado.
Julie was born in Bamberg, Germany on May 24, 1933 to Hans Then and Theresia Then (born Zettelmaier). Julie's childhood years were significantly impacted by World War II. She met her husband Herman Elzey, Jr. in May 1952 during his Army tour of duty in Germany. Julie and Herman were married in Bamberg, Germany on January 16, 1954.

Julie enjoyed traveling, music, singing, dancing, swimming, walking, needle crafts, attending Catholic church services, and spending time with friends. She had a cheerful outgoing personality, friendly greetings for everyone she met, and had a joyfulness that lit up any room.
She was preceded in death by her father Hans, mother Theresia, brothers Eduard and Heinrich, sister Anne, and husband Herman. She is survived by sons Herman III (Angelita), and Michael, daughter Patricia (David), and stepson Derrick, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
