Jimmy Fisk

James Larry "Jimmy" Fisk, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Harlowton, MT, on July 12, 2024. Born at home on March 29, 1947, Jimmy was fortunate to begin and end his life at the Fisk Family property in this community he loved. He had a spirited personality, and a generous heart. Know to befriend those other had shied away from.
Jimmy served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. Following his military tenure, he dedicated many years to the railroad industry, where he retired with the most seniority in the entire railroad. He started with Great Northern, transition to Burlington Northern, and eventually the BNSF. He was respected by his colleagues for his leadership and work ethic.
Beyond his professional life, Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman, often found hunting and fishing in the serene landscapes of Montana. His love for playing cards, driving around town, and visiting with friends filled his days with joy and laughter. Jimmy's especially loved Halloween, he would fill the treat bags full, and each year giving out huge Hershey candy bars to the kindergarten graduates. The neighborhood and grandkids remember an endless amounts of popsicles.
Jimmy leaves behind a loving family, including his former wife, Brenda, son James "Jimbo" Fisk, daughter Jeannette (Eric) Brown, and grandchildren Daijha (Isaac), Abigail (Conner), Zachariah (Maggie), and Makayla Brown. His great-granddaughter, Kendall Brown, also survives him. He was a cherished brother to Shirley Beaver, Sharon Stalcup, Ramona (Frank) Raths, and Arvilene (Heartly) Herndon. Leaving numerous nieces and nephews, being one of 14 siblings.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his twin Jerry, and siblings Juanita Eiseman, George, Russ, Marie Langford, Keitha Edwards, Carl, Max, and Carmella Fisk.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Harlowton on August 3rd at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Journey Winds, an organization that was a tremendous support to the family during his final days. Jimmy loved his community and was sure to drive all over (slowly) checking on everyone and everything. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who knew him.
