Jimmy Fleetwood

SWANSBORO - James Allison "Jimmy" Fleetwood, 65, of Swansboro, and formerly of Edenton, died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at The Landings of Swansboro.
Following private graveside services at Beaver Hill Cemetery, a celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Edenton Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jesse Croom officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
Jimmy was a native of Chowan County and graduated from John A. Holmes High School, where he excelled on both the baseball and football teams. Following high school, he attended NC State University and graduated from the Agriculture Program. He then returned home to work the family farm before going to work with UPS. He worked for UPS for over 30 years and was particularly proud of retiring having surpassed 25 years of safe driving. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing and sitting on the front porch. Jimmy was also a proud member of Edenton Baptist Church where he loved volunteering with the Baptist Men.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and life-long soul mates; his wife of 40 years, Karen Small Fleetwood.
Survivors include his daughter, Allison Fleetwood Cleve and her husband, Justin of Swansboro; one son, Chad Evans Fleetwood of Swansboro; one sister, Elizabeth Gaydica of Southern Pines; brother, Thomas Wilson Fleetwood of Edenton; and his grandchildren, Dalton Evans Fleetwood, Aiden Wayne Fleetwood, Madeline Baye Cleve and Presley Elizabeth Cleve, all who loved their Pops very much.
