Jimmy Greer

Jimmy Greer, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Tyrone, Georgia, at the age of 78. Born on November 28, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, Jimmy was a cherished member of Kings Road Baptist Church, his community and family.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Pearl Greer, and his brothers, Tommy Greer and Frank Greer. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family, including his wife, Donna Greer; his daughters, Kelly Greer, Shelly and Vick Reid, and Dawn and Rodney Purcell. He is also survived by his sister, Mary and Jerry Bishop.
Jimmy was a proud grandfather to Lindsey and Jordan Pleasant, Lanier and Kalista Purcell, Sarah Reid, Abigail Reid, Paul and Brisa Reid, Leah and Jackson Virden, Mary and Noah Anderson, and John Reid. Additionally, he was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Minister Vick Reid officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory.
Jimmy will be remembered not only for his love of family but also for his passion as an avid antique car enthusiast, which brought him joy throughout his life.
