James Thomas "Jimmy" Lytle, 76, of Maysville, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Lexington on November 8, 1948, Jimmy was the son of the late Thomas Taylor Lytle and the late Rebecca Winifred Lathram Lytle Burden.
A 1967 graduate of Fleming County High School, Jimmy attended Eastern Kentucky University. He spent his working years in Lexington and San Diego, Calif., with his father at his service stations.
A life-long lover of baseball, Jimmy was always ready to share a high school memory of being a pitcher for the Fleming County Team. He had an extensive memory of stats for all his favorite players. He especially wanted to see Pete Rose get in the Baseball Hall of Fame. UK basketball was another favorite sports team he followed closely.
In his later years he enjoyed getting together every day for lunch at Burger King with his friends, Don, Norma, Gary, Jamey, and Jimmy. He loved getting to know the employees and meeting new people.
He was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lynda Bramel Lytle; his daughter, Melissa Lytle Moore; his five grandchildren, Tierra Lytle (Fred Allen), Jeremy Moore, Jayden Hutcheson, Eleana Callahan-Harper, and Thomas Drawdy; and his great grandson, Kai Allen. He is also survived by his stepmother, Mary Lytle, his brother-in-law, Marty Mohney; his four nieces, Patrice, Kim, Bryanne, and Mari; his nephew, Nathan; his special cousin, Danny Crocker; and his stepfather, Fred Toncray; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother Winifred and his father Thomas, Jimmy was preceded in death by the mother of his daughter, Yolanda Sue Glover Lytle; his sister, Elsie Marie Lytle Mohney; his niece, Cindy Parker Deem; his aunt, Grace Lytle Young (Edward); his stepfather, Robert Burden; his father-in-law, Clinton Ray Bramel, Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Doris Crain Bramel Toncray.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Fleming County Cemetery with Rev. Elgin Emmons officiating.
Honorary pallbearers include Danny Crocker, Gary Staggs, Tommy Joe Sorrell, Ray Horton, and Paul Bruce.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Jimmy to the Flemingsburg Christian Church (201 East Water Street, Flemingsburg KY 41041).
