Harold Anthony Masden

Harold Anthony Masden was born December 26, 1956, to Jeanette (Whitson) and Richard Harold "RH" Masden. He was one of nine siblings.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John and his father, Richard.
He leaves to mourn; his mother, Jeanette; two sisters, Ann and Janet; five brothers, Don, David, Robert, Jimmie and Dion; his fiancé, Ellen Lydian; a military brother, Henry Ponders, along with a host of relatives and friends.
Harold was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. His mom brought them up with the importance of attending church starting as infants. Harold was active in the church, in the men's choir and finance minister.
Harold graduated from Bullitt Central High School in 1974 where he played basketball and ran track. Over the years, he received several awards for his sports accomplishments. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 18, 1982, and retired as Master Sergeant (E7) in March 2005. During his reign in the service, his job consisted of both assigning and reassigning units/personnel to other positions all over the world. He maintained the manpower for the Thunderbirds, the presidential plane and numerous other units around the world.
He worked as a supervisor for Cardinal Health in Radcliff, Kentucky for a short period of time. His final job was working for the Kentucky State Police Department until his retirement October 1, 2022.
Harold enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, and was a diehard fan of the Louisville Cardinals.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 1:30 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, Kentucky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
