Jimmy ("Jim") Lee Moss, 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Jim was born on March 4, 1949 in Houston, Texas to James Henry Moss and Evie (Heflin) Moss of Lake Jackson, Texas. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country, both in the United States and Germany, before honorably retiring. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Kathy Elaine Hargis of Pasadena, Texas, and, in 1972, they welcomed their son, Zephry James Moss. Jim worked for many years at Western Electric (which, during his tenure, became Southwestern Bell and then AT&T) in many roles, including telephone repair, lineman and hub service. Jim and Kathy together pursued their passion for breeding and showing English Bulldogs and jointly founded and operated MossRose Bulldogs for over 20 years. MossRose Bulldogs achieved success in the show-ring and they bred several champion English Bulldogs. Jim was inducted into the Bulldog Club of America Hall of Fame in 2004 with Kathy following in 2008. He also served as President of the Bulldog Club of Texas. Jim was a life long Houston Astros baseball fan and delighted in attending games with Zeph. He showed his love for both his son and the game by coaching all of Zeph's Little League teams. Jim is survived by his son, Dr. Zephry James Moss, his daughter-in-law, Amy Christine (Helm) Moss, his two adored grandchildren, Zoe Katherine Moss and Zachary James Moss, his brother, Clyde Douglas Moss, his sister-in-law, Diann Hargis Louther and her husband, Bob Louther, his nephews, Chase Roscher, Joel Goodson and Neal Goodson, his niece, Lynsy Moss, and their families. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Kathy, his parents, his brother, Billy Joe Moss, and Billy's wife, Anita Moss. Funeral services will be privately held. Memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to MD Anderson Cancer Center at https://mdanderson.donordrive.com/.
