Jimmy Parsons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert on Dec. 13, 2025.
Jimmy Milton Parsons was born on May 5, 1945, in Porum, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Milton Dickason Parsons and Sarah Alice (Woods) Parsons. Jimmy spent his childhood in Porum, where he grew up and attended school.

While working for a tire company, Jimmy was sent to Missouri to change the tires on large equipment being used in the Pulaski County area. He fell in love with the region and made the decision to move there, ultimately making it his lifelong home.

After settling in Missouri, Jimmy demonstrated his versatility by operating a wide range of machinery. He was an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses including a gravel plant, the Misty Mountain housing development, Parsons Sawmill, and Jim's Firewood.

Jimmy had a deep appreciation for the area. He enjoyed spending time by the river fishing, working in the woods, and gathering with friends. He was actively involved in his community, serving as a board member on the Pulaski County Water District Board and as a member of the Newburg Equality Lodge No. 497.

Jimmy Milton Parsons passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Parsons of Newburg, Missouri; his great-grandchildren, Elijah Summe and D.J. Dunning; his brothers, Danny Parsons (Nora) of Briartown, Oklahoma, Melvin Parsons and Mike Parsons, both of Oklahoma, and George Parsons of Bixby, Oklahoma; and his sister, Betty Parsons of Oklahoma. He is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandson: Jason Summe and two brothers: Frankie & Bobby Parsons.

Although Jimmy is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Private family services were held and arrangements were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
