A memorial service for Jimmy Ray Protho, 72, will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Andrew Brewster.
Jimmy was born on October 6, 1953, to Harold Eugene Protho, Sr., and Thelma Wallace Protho in New Orleans, Louisiana, and passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Jimmy was a proud graduate of Parkway High School, Class of 1971. Known for his loyalty and easygoing nature, he was a true friend to many and a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints, cheering them on through every season with heart and hope.
He was married to Henrietta Protho, and together they built a life rooted in love and shared memories. Jimmy worked for Milbar Hydro Test and Safety Kleen, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Whether he was swapping stories with friends, watching the game, or lending a helping hand, Jimmy brought warmth and sincerity to every moment. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Eugene Protho, Sr., and Thelma Wallace Protho, and his brother, Harold Eugene Protho, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are Matthew Protho, and wife, Dianne; Cindi McDonald; Stephanie Wooten; Jason Wooten; Melissa Richardson and husband, Luke; Jennifer Lopez and husband, Edwin; Chris Protho and wife, Melissa; Brandi Rogers; Connie Protho, Carolyn Stiles Protho; Cliff Haines; and Gena Dachel and husband, Chase.
The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org, or to a charity of your choosing.
