Jimmy Smith

Jimmy Smith, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Smith was born May 29, 1943, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late J.C. Smith & Hattie Mashburn Smith Revell. He graduated in 1963 from Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Smith worked for Tice Yarn, Modern Textiles and Modern Fibers, retiring as a maintenance supervisor. He loved to fish, drink coffee, and watch Westerns. Mr. Smith enjoyed visiting Alaska and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eloise Smith of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Brazzell & Gary of Mystic; a son, Johnny Lee Smith & Sarita of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Becky Inmon, Justin James & Keri and Kaleb Lee Smith; three step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Carley Mims, Braven Inmon, Camden Inmon, Briceson Olivas, Cayden Olivas, Gabe Olivas and Kason Smith and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Willis Smith and Johnny Lee Smith and a sister, Ann Smith Brewer.
