Jimmy Smith Obituary
Jimmy K Smith, 80, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 5th, at TJ Samson Community Hospital.
Jimmy was born in Monroe County, KY on June 30, 1943, a son of the late Reva Rowe and Reed Smith.
Jimmy was a farmer all of his life and still enjoyed going to check on the cattle. He was a woodworker, and especially liked making canes. Jimmy also enjoyed fishing. He was of the Baptist faith.
On October 20, 1962, he married Betty Jane (Belcher) Smith, who precedes him in death.
Jimmy is survived by two sons Richard Smith, and wife, Linda, of Tompkinsville, KY and Wayne Neal Smith, of Oakland, KY; two grandchildren, Lori Smith and Chris Smith, and fiancé, Beth Peters; three great grandchildren, Riklynn Beth Smith, Emilie and Michael Peters; and his twin sister, Janice Shives, of Indianapolis, IN.
Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, 4-8 p.m., and Monday, after 8:00 a.m. until service time at
2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
