PERRY –
Jimmy Frederick Stokes, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his home. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wayne Edwards officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heritage Baptist Church, 257 Lake Joy Road, Perry, GA 3169.
Jimmy was born on December 29, 1938, in Perry to the late Frederick L. and Doris Howard Stokes. A graduate of Byron High School, he earned an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He was an electrician and a general contractor who owned and operated Houston Mechanical for forty years. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed watching Western shows on television and loved spending time with his family and friends. Later in life, visiting Charlie's house was one of his favorite things to do. He was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Doris Stokes; his loving and devoted wife, Jean Stokes; his sister, Clara Stokes Malone; and an infant child, Melanie Paige Stokes.
Survivors include his children, Wendy Stokes Bellacomo (Joe) of Albany, Jeff Stokes (Dena) of Atlanta, Matt Stokes (Vickie) of Alpharetta, Rodney Grim of Perry, and Ginger Woodell (Skylar) of Warner Robins; his grandchildren, Andrew Bellacomo, Rosie Bellacomo, Blake Stokes, and Katie Stokes; his brother, Ed Stokes (Sandy) of Perry; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
