Joseph was born on February 13, 1940, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Harvey and Ruth Montgomery Marlowe. As the eldest of 11 children, Joseph's leadership and protective nature were evident from a young age. In 1973, he moved to Georgia to pursue a career as an iron worker with Local 387, a role that showcased his dedication and skill.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ruth Marlowe; his sons, Joseph Aubrey Marlowe and Todd Hayward Marlowe; and his loving wife of 60 years, Frances "Frankie" Ellen Hayward Marlowe.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Joseph are his daughters, Sherry Lynn Marlowe and Kaye Anthony; sisters, Sarah Ruthe Marlowe, Julia Faye Marlowe, and Letitia Marlowe; brother, Mitch Marlowe; his friend and caregiver, Sherie Dickerson; and many nephews and nieces.

We were quite shocked to learn of Joe's passing when we made our weekly visits with Joe. It was evident he was failing each time we visited and would have prayer with him. He knew us by name upon each if our visits. We send our sincere condolences to the family, as well as to his caretaker, Ms. Dickerson. Roy and Joan Combs
