Jimmy L. Walker, 83, of Dumas, died on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Encounter Church with Anthony Curran officiating. Private burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Jimmy was born on June 2, 1941 in Greenville, Texas to Herbert and Juanita Watson Walker. He married Marilyn Buckles in Fritch on January 14, 1961. They moved to Dumas, where he worked as City Inspector and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter. He worked for 34 years for Diamond Shamrock until retirement.
He was a carpenter in his free time, building anything from large structures to tiny bird houses. He also enjoyed leather work and always loved playing guitar for family and friends. His heart was full of love and generosity and a passion for the Lord Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bradford Walker; sister, Patsy Walker Harris; brother, Mickey Walker; daughter, Deborah Walker Schauerte; and granddaughter, Chloe Dawn Rogers.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Marilyn Walker; daughter, Cindy Ethridge and husband Jason of Dumas; two granddaughters, Erin Napp of Dumas and Jessa Ethridge of Dumas; three grandsons, Thomas Napp of New Branfels, Jake Ethridge of Dumas, and Jett Ethridge of Dumas; and one great granddaughter, Mireya Valenciano.
