Jimmy Ray Wilcox, age 71 of Walkertown, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 5th, at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. He was surrounded by all of his family and loved ones.
Jimmy was born on October 29, 1953 and raised in Ashe County, North Carolina. He was a well-known resident of the Helton Creek Community.
Those who knew and loved Jimmy knew he was a family man and was always showing selfless acts of service and kindness. If you needed something, call Jimmy! He could figure out a way to solve any problem and fix everything that was broken. Jimmy loved the beach and the feeling of the warm sunshine! He had a soft side for animals, always feeding them from his back door. He was always the practical joker and master of the worst "dad" jokes! No one could make you smile and melt your heart quiet like he could!
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Letcher and Mae Wilcox, and his two older brothers, Kermit Wilcox and Harold Wilcox, all of Helton Creek.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Teri Kiger Wilcox, his 4 children, Allison Holman husband Robert, Julie Wagoner husband Travis, Adam Lawson girlfriend Tina and Alex Lawson wife Kelly. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Miranda Holman husband Brandon, Eric Holman, and Olivia Wilcox. Also surviving are 2 nieces, Rene Wilcox and Amy Wilcox, and one nephew, Larry Wilcox.
Jimmy was so many things to so many people and he leaves behind a legacy of life filled with love and laughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon, November 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM, at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory with Bro. Randy Kiger officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memory in Walkertown NC. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening November 10, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
