Mrs. Shirley Ruth Walker Noah, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born July 25, 1938, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Raymer McPherson Walker and Pearlie Reece Ayers Walker. Shirley graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1956. She was long time member of Old Time Baptist Church in King, NC. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, and tending to her flowers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Noah, Sr. and sister, Bonnie Southern. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Scott Noah and James Edward Noah, Jr.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Brenda Walker (Jimmy), Barbara Chambers (John), and Kathy Hudson (Danny); and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Tommy Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
