Jing Zhu Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 3, 2025.
Jing Zhu, age 71, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday evening, January 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Jing was born on January 11, 1954 in Shanghai, China to her father, Zuguan Zhu, and late mother, Aizhen Li. Jing spent her early years in China working as an operating room (OR) nurse. She married her husband, Yee Kin Kwor, on August 8, 1988, and eventually had their only daughter, Jie Ge, on March 22, 1990. Shortly after, they moved and settled in Wilmington, DE in April 1991.
Jing had many hobbies and passions in her life. She was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, and embroider. She ultimately passed on her dexterity and hand skills to her daughter, who is a general dentist in Bethesda, MD. Jing also loved gardening and took vigilant care of her houseplants. She enjoyed traveling and has visited friends and family as far away as China, Australia, and Hong Kong, as well as domestically in Washington, Colorado, and New York.
Jing always loved children and absolutely adored her granddaughter, Amelia, who she lovingly called "Little Mia." She babysat Mia every week and excitedly looked forward to those days together.
Jing was an amazing cook and caretaker of her family. Even in her final moments, she wanted everyone to be comfortable and well taken care of, even waiting until her husband and daughter had eaten their dinners before passing away peacefully.
Smart, diligent, considerate, kind, and beloved by everyone, Jing was truly a beautiful soul with a pure heart.
Jing is preceded in death by her mother, Aizhen Li. She is survived by her husband, Yee Kin Kwor; daughter, Dr. Jie Ge; son-in-law, Dr. Brandon Lee; granddaughter, Amelia Lee; father, Dr. Zuguan Zhu; older sister, Min Chu; and younger brother, Richard Zhu.
The funeral service for Jing will be held privately at Mealey Funeral Homes on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
