Jitendra Rai Agarwala

Jitendra Rai (JR) Agarwala, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 12, 2023, in Rochester, NY.
JR was born in 1938 in Meerut, India. He moved to Germany around 1960 where he studied printing engineering and gained his technical degree. He then moved to London, England in approximately 1965 where he worked for Macmillan Publishers House before starting his own business. JR, a serial entrepreneur, made a final move, with his family, to Rochester, NY in 1987, to start a successful dental and medical supply business. His company was named the fastest growing dental company in the early 2000's and he was always innovative.
Beyond his professional success, his family and friendships meant the world to him. He was a devoted "Papa, Nanu, Dadu and Raje;" He was a community well-wisher and a caring friend who kept everyone around him focused with his worldly wisdom. Offering support to all of those that needed it, whether friend, foe or stranger, he touched many lives and offered stability to all. He was also an ardent supporter of the Hindu Temple of Rochester where he was actively involved in various roles, including President, Treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees.
JR is survived by his wife, Usha Agarwala; daughter, Shelly Agarwala; son, Amit Rai Agarwala; grandchildren, great grandchild, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
JR's family are inviting all to attend funeral ceremony and visitation with family between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM on Monday, March 20, 2023 to be held at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Road South.
