Jo Ann Ann Gangi

Jo Ann Gangi, age 81, passed away on July 30, 2025, at Paragon Assisted Living. She was the widow of R. C. Goins. They shared five charmed years of marriage prior to his untimely passing in 1972.

Born at Gatewood, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Thomas Charles and Modena G. Cheslock. She graduated from Fayetteville High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Gregg award. She was employed as a secretary by the government at the Public Housing Administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. As the years went on, she accepted various temporary assignments in the Washington D C metro area. She had an outstanding work ethic and was well appreciated by her employers.

Jo Ann worshipped at the Community Church of God, Dunn Loring; her love and faith was in Jesus Christ. Gifts and talents included a good sense of humor and a special eye for color and decorating. She enjoyed photography and took many pictures of family, events, and nature. Family and friends will remember her kindness, perception, consideration and generosity.

Jo Ann is survived by her two sons, Richard and John (Brooke), her brother Paul (Delores), sister Judy (Glenn), and sister-in-law Karen. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Ed. She will be greatly missed.

A service of celebration and thanksgiving of her life will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia. The service will be at 10:00 and interment will follow at 11:00 at the adjacent cemetery.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
