Ruth Jo Ann Hall, aged 90, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Lampasas, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1934, at her family's home in Kerrville, Texas. She was the cherished daughter of James "Neal" Cornelius Ray and Rosa Carolina Marquis.
Growing up in a lively household with four brothers and two sisters, music was woven into the fabric of her daily life. Family gatherings often transformed into impromptu concerts, with each member showcasing their musical talents. Jo Ann herself was a gifted musician, adept at playing the organ, guitar, and fiddle.
On April 30, 1960, Jo Ann married Lawrence Hall in Kerrville, Texas. The couple moved to Lampasas.
Jo Ann was a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Lampasas, where her deep faith and commitment to her beliefs were evident to all who knew her.
Jo Ann was skilled in crocheting and sewing, dedicating countless hours to crafting clothing for her children. Her handiwork was a reflection of her love and care, wrapping her family in warmth and comfort.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Treadwell, David Hall, Troy Hall (Margie); daughter, Charlotte (Jerry); her grandchildren, Angie, Cliff, Gina, Jeremy, Christopher, Charla, Amanda, Danae, Jerry, Sherree, and Wesley; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Hall; her parents; her son, Larry Treadwell; her cousin and best friend, Jessie Mae Marquis Dunigan; her brothers, James "Bud" Elton, Charles Melvin, Kenneth, and Billy Dean; and her sisters, Millie Evelyn and Ruby Geneva.
Jo Ann's legacy is one of faith, family, and the melodies that filled her life and the lives of those she touched. Her harmonious spirit and the memories she created will resonate in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Third St, Lampasas, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Kempner Cemetery.
