TALLMADGE - Jo Ann Mullins (nee Miller), age 92, passed away on August 1, 2025.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Terry, and survived by her children, Cheryl, Jeffrey and Jill (Dr. Brian Hogan), and grandson, Chance Coughlin.
Jo Ann was born in Uniontown, Ohio to Oma and James Frank Miller. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Geri, Kate, Jimmy, Bill, Dale and Jean. She grew up in Springfield Township on a farm and was part of the “greatest generation” that witnessed World War II. She told us many stories about growing up during this time.
Jo Ann loved to sew, crochet, quilt and do counted cross stitch. She created many things, such as baby clothes, quilts, afghans and many counted cross stitch pictures. She also loved flowers and spent many hours in the yard planting a lovely variety of color in addition to a plentiful garden, which fed her family.
Jo Ann had a wicked sweet tooth and loved going out for ice cream. She made THE BEST homemade ice cream and later had so many fond memories of going to local places such as Chestnut Ridge Dairy and Strickland’s to get her favorite scoop.
Jo Ann was a hard worker and dedicated 33 years to The Summit County Children’s Services Board. In her later years, she went to Florida with Terry, to care for her mother and spend time with their niece, Loraine, and her daughters, Amy and Aubrey. They cherished this time spent with family and looked forward to this yearly trip. Closer to home, mom and dad spent many Saturdays in Amish country eating dinner and looking for something new to make. Jo Ann and Terry were married 65 years. They spent many years at The Chapel, where they had so many friends and memories.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, for visitation on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 10 - 11:30 AM, where a service will be conducted at 11:30 AM.
