Jo Ann Whittington Obituary
Mrs. Jo Ann Angel Whittington, 87, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Jo Ann was born in South Charleston, WV and was the daughter of the late Gratton George and Aubrey Jane Angel.
She was a 1955 graduate of South Charleston High School and lived in South Charleston and Scott Depot, WV before moving to Aiken, SC to be closer to family. She retired from Union Carbide. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Myers (Clyde), Aiken, Melissa Crawford (Eric), Grant-Valkaria, FL; four grandchildren, Amy Myers and Lauren Still (Derrick) of Aiken, Grant and Emily Crawford, Grant-Valkaria, FL; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Charleigh Jo Still; and niece Diana Hensley (Rick) of Hurricane, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Jack DeWane Whittington; sister Helen Howell Hedrick, brothers Robert Howell and Stanley Angel.
Service details will be announced.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Barclay House of Aiken and Enhabit Hospice Care for their excellent care of Jo Ann.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund.
