Jo Edith Brown

Jo went to be in the presence of the Lord on Sept 23rd, 2025. She was born June 12th, 1928, at Pisgah Ridge, Richland Texas to Jesse E. Baldwin and Mary Lane Baldwin. She graduated from Richland High School in 1946. She later married and became a proud mother of three children. Having lived and worked in various places, she lived in Waco for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and retired from Safeway Inc. After retirement she and her husband Henry moved to Corsicana where she became an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Corsicana. She served in various positions, having found joy later in making dozens of afghans for the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She loved the Lord and served Him well. Jo loved to travel and got to see most of the USA and enjoyed trips to Canada, Mexico, South America, Egypt and Israel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry D. Brown, five brothers, James, Lloyd, Bill, Earl and Jesse Ray Baldwin and a sister Juanita Griffin. She is survived by her daughter Peggy Parker and husband Mark of Corsicana, her sons Jackie Gunn of Garland Texas, Neil Gunn and wife Phyllis of El Paso Texas and stepdaughter Barbara Fraze and husband Ron of Port Aransas, Texas. Also, her sister Irene Davenport-Robinson and husband Lew of Corsicana. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She felt blessed to have each one of them. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, Oct 1st from 10AM until 11AM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct 1st at 11AM at Griffin-Roughton. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery, Retreat Texas. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all the people at Twilight Nursing Home for their Love and excellent care of Jo during her time there.
