Jo Ellen (nee: Wise) Hickey-Grey passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Edgewood St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, after a long and courageous battle with advanced COPD. She was 67 years old.

Jo's life was defined by her deep love for family and friends. She often expressed immense gratitude for the joy, laughter, and love she experienced throughout her life with those dearest to her.

Jo was born on January 23, 1958, and grew up in Hilliard, Ohio, with her younger sister Lynn and her late parents Harriet Clemons and Thomas Wise. She maintained a particularly tight relationship with her extended family, which included numerous cherished relatives from her mother's hometown of Piketon, Ohio, and Hilliard, Ohio.

In 1977, Jo married her first husband, David Hickey. Together, they raised three children: Neal, Rene, and Natalie. Later in life, Jo married Thomas Grey in 1993. They shared a loving home and raised two daughters, Bailey and Elizabeth, on the outskirts of Hilliard. Jo's love for her family extended across generations-from her grandmother Dorothy, affectionately known as Granny, to the many cherished pets that brought her comfort and joy through the years.

As her children grew, Jo embraced one of her greatest joys in life: becoming a grandmother. Known affectionately as "Pickle" to some of her six grandchildren-Rylee, Eila, Haley, Nolan, Atticus, and Elnora-Jo treasured each moment with them. Whether sharing family stories, playing games like Yahtzee or Sequence, or simply enjoying their company, Jo was happiest surrounded by those she loved most.

Jo's warmth extended beyond her family. She nurtured lifelong friendships and loved long, heartfelt conversations. Her bond with her childhood best friend, Tina, was a constant source of support and laughter throughout her life.

Jo is survived by her sister, Lynn Wise; her children, Neal (Kelly) Hickey, Rene (Bob) Jamison, Natalie Weeks, Bailey Grey, and Elizabeth Grey; and her grandchildren, Rylee Hickey, Eila Hickey, Haley Jamison, Nolan Jamison, Atticus Weeks, and Elnora Weeks; ex-husband and life long friend, Thomas Grey, who remained by her side lovingly during her illness, as well as many extended family and friends, who will all be greatly missed.

Jo has requested that there be no formal service or calling hours. Her family urges everyone who knew her to pay tribute to her memory in their own unique way, whether it be by spending quality time with loved ones, telling a heartfelt tale, or hosting a game night in her name.
