Jo Ann Martin

Jo Ann Martin, 88, of Midland Texas departed from the boundaries of her earthly home on August 11th of 2025 and was welcomed into her eternal home in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jo was born on May 1st, 1937, in Halletsville, Texas to Elsie and John McKey. She spent most of her life as a secretary for various companies - Eddins Walcher, Wilgas Co, and Clayton gas for Clayton Williams. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, going on vacations, movies, and she loved mexican food. She enjoyed family reunions and of course seeing her brothers when she was visiting them while at the McKey reunion. She loved her sons Michael and Gregory very much and always wanted the best out of both of them. She retired back in 2008 while working part time at Ken's Rent-it Center for a year. She spent most of her time with her husband Bobbie before his passing in 2016. She went to Trinity Presbyterian Church and also First Presbyterian Church in Midland for a good number of years, then the last few years of her life she went to Midland Church of God. Jo Ann is survived by her son, Gregory Martin and wife Rachelle of MIdland, Texas. Step grandchildren Karley Martinez and wife Jovana of Midland, Texas. Zechariah Nickel of Andrews, Texas. Thomas Day, Vyktoria (Tori) Nickel of Daytona Beach, Florida. Step great grandson Isaiah Nickel of Oelwein, Iowa. She has several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobbie Joe Martin, her son Michael Gene Martin, and her three brothers. A celebration of Jo Anns life will be held at the Midland Church of God, 5300 Thomason Dr, Midland, TX on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the Alzheimer's Association in Jo Anns honor.
