Jo Ann Tamborello, 71, was a lifelong Rockford resident. She was born November 13, 1952 and passed away peacefully April 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from Rockford's East High and worked in retailing over 30 years at Kohl's and then JC Penney. Jo Ann and her husband Steven were married 50 years.
Survived by daughter, Andrea Sandberg of Rockford; son, Joseph (Tiffany) Tamborello and grandson, Benjamin from Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Susan (Michael) Pixler, Michael (Debbie) Johns, Terry (Wayne) Everman and Jerry (Edie) Johns; and all her nieces and nephews who loved her so much.
Jo Ann was predeceased by her parents, Myron and Elsie (Vaher) Johns; her son-in-law, David Sandberg; and her beloved dog, Pongo.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30pm on Monday, April 29, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 30, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, IL 61102 with Father Beekman officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association or American Alzheimer's Association.
