Jo Ann Thompson

Mrs. Jo Ann McMillan Thompson, 75, passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was born on July 23, 1950, in Lakeland, Georgia. Jo Ann was a devoted homemaker and a pastor's wife for more than 50 years. She deeply loved her husband and children and was truly a "people person," always enjoying conversation and fellowship with others. Jo Ann faithfully served the Lord and was a member of Lochlaurel Baptist Church in Lake Park, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul Elmer Thompson, Jr.; her father, Richard "Shorty" McMillan; and brother, Mitchell McMillan.

Survivors include her children: Paul Timothy Thompson (Kimberly) of Douglas; Mark Dwayne Thompson (Casey) of Ailey, Georgia; Shawn Keith Thompson (Michelle) of Alma; and Samantha Lee Bennett (Jason) of Millwood; her mother, Hazel Royals McMillan; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
