Jo Ann Kreiss Wiley, 70, of Des Moines, formerly of Keosauqua, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jo has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2024 (the date of the Annual Wilson Reunion) at the Hotel Manning in Keosauqua, IA from 1 to 4 p.m. with inurnment following at the Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua. Memorial Services of Iowa in Ankeny has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Jo was the daughter of Joe and Edith Ann Winn Kreiss. She was born in Keosauqua on February 3, 1954. Jo graduated in the class of 1972 from Van Buren High School. She spent the past years working in Des Moines at Principal Financial and later at Prairie Meadows Casino.
Jo was an avid fan of the Iowa Cubs and attended as many games as possible. She also had fun visiting casinos. Wilson, Winn, and Kreiss Family reunions were important to Jo as people gathering was an enjoyment to her.
Jo is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lana and Charles Boughner of Kellogg, IA; sister-in-law, Ellen Kreiss of Keosauqua IA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Edith Kreiss; brother, Gary Kreiss and his wife Vivian; brother, Arlo Kreiss; sister, Linda Brill and her husband, Wayne Brill; and nephew, Richard Kreiss.
Memorials can be made to the family and will be determined at a later date. Cards may be sent to Lana Boughner, 8806 Hwy 6 East, Kellogg, IA 50135.
