Joan Ann Lapinski, 83 of Skippack Township, Collegeville passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.
Born in Ashland on March 31, 1940, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Anne Florence (Kersavage) Matusevich.
She was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She then earned her Registered Nurse (RN) degree at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.
Joan Ann was previously employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She retired from Abington Health Lansdale Hospital having worked as an operating room nurse.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, Lansdale.
Joan Ann was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed the beach especially summers in Ocean City, New Jersey and winters at Anna Maria Island, Florida. She also liked to travel and made numerous national and international trips throughout her life. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her family especially her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Robert D. Lapinski of Paxinos and Eric Lapinski and his wife Kristen of West Chester with their children and Joan Ann’s beloved grandchildren, Trevor and Peyton Lapinski; one sister, Jacqueline Kaufmann and her husband Richard of Narvon; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, Lawrence F. Mrofka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Rev. Kevin J. Gallagher as the celebrant. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at the Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Joan Ann’s memory to Mommy and Me Rescue, 610 East Fifth Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
