Born on August 1, 1929, in Jackson Heights, New York, Joan was deeply devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was traveling alongside her beloved husband, Dan Carnevale, with whom she shared many adventures until his passing in December 2019. Among all their destinations, Joan held a special affection for their home on Prince Edward Island-a place that brought her immense peace and happiness.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her children, Susan Perry and Scott Perry with his wife Lisa. She took great pride in being a grandmother to Kristen Smeir and her husband Rommy, Ryan Perry, and Zach Perry. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Jamil and Bella Smeir.
In her later years, Joan became part of the warm community at St. Joseph's Center in Trumbull. There, she and Dan were surrounded by compassionate caregivers who provided comfort and support during their final chapters together.
A service celebrating Joan's life will be held later this summer.
