Joan P. Clancy (nee DeLuca), age 71, of Yeadon, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on December 4, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Martha P. DeLuca (nee Cannon).
Joan was raised in Upper Darby and attended St Laurence Catholic School before graduating from Archbishop Prendergast High School. Joan worked as an Instructional Assistant for emotional support at Penn Wood East Junior High and was dedicated to the students she served.
Joan was a lively spirit who brought laughter and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a special gift for making people laugh, and her quick wit along with her comedic perspective on life were unique to her. No family gathering was ever complete without her sharp humor and infectious laugh. Whether telling stories or sharing her funny observations on life, she always knew how to lift the spirits of those around her.
In 1972, she married the love of her life, embarking on a shared journey with her beloved late husband, Daniel C. Clancy. As the matriarch of a large and loving family, she became the glue that held everyone together. Her children and her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, from the small everyday moments to the big family celebrations. Her legacy of love, humor, and devotion will live on through them.
Joan could find happiness with a few simple things in her life. She had a passion for house plants. Her green thumb was matched only by her love for her beloved animals, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
Though she is no longer with us, Joan’s laughter, love, and light will continue to fill our hearts forever.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Daniel C. Clancy and loving mother of Joan M. Bradley ( Christopher) Daniel C. Clancy, III (Angela), William P. Clancy, Christopher R. Clancy, Michelle L. Clancy, and Theresa R. Clancy; adoring grandmother of Christopher Jr., Kayla, Noah, Jacob, Ava, Daniel IV, Gabriella, Gianna, Adrianna, Charlotte, Benjamin, and David Jr.
