Joan Coon

Funeral services for Joan Lewise Terry Coon, age 92, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana. Bro. Terry Slawson will officiate. Interment will be at Henson Cemetery in Eros, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana.

Joan was born on February 6, 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Walter Lewis Terry and Anne Wood Terry and passed away on February 24, 2026 in Monroe, Louisiana.

Joan was a member of First Baptist Church Monroe, Phi Beta Kappa and the Porcelain Arts Guild. She was also an instructor in porcelain arts. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henson S. Coon, Jr. and her parents.

Those left to cherish Joan's memory include her son, Henson S. Coon, III (Tamie); grandchildren, Lewis Coon (Jessica) and Kelsey Pool (Caleb); great-grandchildren, Henson and Logan Coon and Amelia, Meredith and Catherine Pool; sister, Sandy Allen; cousins, nieces, nephews and many other cherished family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Greer, Caleb Pool, Lewis Coon, Joe Allen, Jay Coon and Bobby Fowler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Mason, Brandon Fuller, Jeff Coon, Dan Culpepper and Bryan Maggio.
